Jay W. Jackson is a partner in the Hartford office of Jackson O'Keefe. Since forming the firm, Mr. Jackson's practice has concentrated in governmental law and relations. He represents the interests of a diverse group of clients before the Connecticut General Assembly and the Connecticut Insurance Department, where he was Commissioner. His personal experience in politics and his service as legal advisor to two governors has provided him with a unique insight into Connecticut government enabling him to effectively represent his clients.

He was admitted to the Connecticut bar in 1958; 1960, U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut. Education: Washington and Lee University (B.A., 1953; J.D., 1958). Legal Counsel to: Governor William A. O'Neill, 1980-1988, and Governor Ella Grasso, 1976-1980. Connecticut Commissioner of Insurance, 1975-1976. Connecticut State Senator, 1967-1973. Chairman: Public Utilities Committee, 1967-1969; General Law Committee, 1969-1971; Judiciary Committee, 1971-1973, and Regulations Review Committee, 1971-1973. West Hartford Town Councilman, 1963-1967. Member: Hartford County and Connecticut Bar Associations.
